We feel dining needs a separate page dedicated to it because in Provence we are spoilt when it comes to food. You are able to choose to dine anywhere from a sophisticated world class restaurant where you will dine on creations labored over by a Michelin star chef to something simple and rustic, cooked in a tiny village bistro, though equally delicious. The magic is mostly in the ingredients, cultivated in the sunshine, bursting with flavour and cooked within a few miles of the field where it came from.

Melons-Cavaillon is the melon capital of France. The variety grown is the Charentais. It is succulent and intensely fragment and has been grown in the region for five centuries. They have to be tasted!
Truffles-the area around our home is famous for black truffles. The truffle season starts in November and finishes in March and are sought out by ˇĄtruffiersˇ¦ and their hounds and then taken to the market in Carpentras on Fridays from Mid November to February. Carpentras Tourist Office have a list of truffiers who welcome the public on truffle hunting trips. There is a truffle market on Boxing Day in Menerbes each year.
Banon goats cheese- It is a very old cheese maybe from the Gallo-Roman era. In order to keep the cheese fresh in the Winter it is wrapped in Chesnut leaves and tied with raffia. It is rich, creamy and unctuous.
